1. Acceptance of these terms
By accessing or using this website, a visitor agrees to these terms. A person who does not agree should stop using the website. BSSA provides the website for the XXI Africa Aquatics Zone IV Swimming Championships and may update these terms by publishing a revised version on this page.
2. Purpose of the website
The website provides event details, venue information, competition results, athlete profiles, medal tables, team standings and records. It also provides a restricted route through which authorised users can submit meet-results files for processing.
Content is provided for event information and sporting-record purposes. It is not professional, medical, travel, legal or safety advice. Visitors remain responsible for confirming arrangements that may change, including travel, entry, accreditation and session details, through the appropriate official channel.
3. Competition information and results
Reasonable care is taken to publish accurate information, but live and recently uploaded data may be incomplete, delayed, corrected or replaced. A status shown as provisional must not be treated as a final result. Where the website differs from a formally issued result or decision of the authorised competition officials, that formal result or decision takes precedence.
Names, ages, teams, times, placings, statuses, disqualification reasons and records may be corrected to preserve the accuracy of the official sporting record. Previously viewed results may remain available offline and can be older than the latest publication. The website does not guarantee that every historical result will remain available indefinitely.
4. Acceptable use
A visitor must not:
- use the website unlawfully or to harm another person;
- attempt to bypass access controls or discover a passcode;
- interfere with the website, hosting, results files or network;
- introduce malware or submit corrupted or deceptive files;
- scrape or send automated requests at a rate that disrupts service;
- misrepresent website content as an altered official result; or
- use participant information for harassment, discrimination, unsolicited marketing or profiling.
Reasonable linking to public pages is permitted provided the link does not imply an endorsement, partnership or governing-body relationship that has not been confirmed.
5. Restricted results-upload service
The upload route is for authorised event personnel only. Users must protect the passcode, submit only files they are authorised to use, and check that a file does not contain information beyond what is required for competition administration and result publication.
Upload acceptance confirms only that the service received and processed the file to the extent reported on screen. It does not by itself confirm that every row is accurate or that every result is final. Quarantined or rejected data must be reviewed through the authorised results process.
6. Intellectual property and permitted use
The BSSA logo, Zone IV 2026 identity, website design and original site content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. No licence is granted to alter, reproduce or use an event mark for commercial, promotional or endorsement purposes without the relevant rights holder's permission.
Visitors may view, print or share links to public information for personal, editorial and legitimate sporting purposes, provided the source is identified and the content is not misleadingly changed. Third-party names, flags, marks, maps and other materials remain the property of their respective rights holders.
7. Third-party services and links
The website links to or embeds services operated by third parties, including Google Maps and ITIQ, and uses Microsoft Azure infrastructure. Third-party services are governed by their own terms and policies. A link or technical integration does not create an endorsement unless the website expressly states otherwise.
8. Availability and changes
The website may be suspended, restricted or changed for maintenance, security, operational or legal reasons. Features and content may be added, corrected, moved or removed without notice. Continuous or error-free access is not guaranteed, and pages not opened previously may be unavailable without a network connection.
9. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, the website is provided on an “as available” basis. No warranty is made that content will always be complete, current, uninterrupted or free from error. These terms do not exclude any guarantee, duty or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, BSSA and those involved in operating the website are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of, reliance on, or inability to access the website or a third-party service. Nothing in these terms limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer-protection law.
11. Privacy
The privacy policy explains how the website processes technical information, appearance preferences, competition records and restricted uploads. By using the website, a visitor acknowledges that processing described in that policy.
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws that apply to BSSA's operation of the event in Botswana, without limiting any mandatory rights a visitor has under another applicable law. Questions or disputes should first be raised with BSSA through its published official contact channels so that they can be considered promptly.
13. General terms
If part of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining terms continue to apply. A delay in enforcing a term does not waive it. These terms and the privacy policy form the website terms; separate competition, accreditation, entry or venue rules may also apply to participants and officials.
